How Kurt Grabmayer used Harrison Balistas to tackle the World Carp Cup 2002
Kurt Grabmayer is an Austrian tackle dealer and top carp angler. This is his account in his own words of how he used 13' 4lb Ballistas to good effect when he won World Carp Cup recently.
" 105 teams of two people form 33 nations took part in the competition from 14th to 21st September. We drew a not so good swim with an average depth of 6m, but beginning at 100m plus we found a plateau which stared at 4.8m going to 3.6m in extreme distance.
Our luck was that we built up 4 Harrison Ballista 13' 4lb, special designed for the use of multiplyer reels, and so we were able to cast to that plateau against strong head winds. Without the rods we hadn't any chance, we tried it by other rod types, and missed by more than 15m! The casting power of the Ballistas was so enormous that we could use 5oz leads, and always had the feeling heavier leads wont make any problem! Because of the guide setting for the use of multiplier reels, the rods had a wonderful, not too fast action. I can highly recommend them for conditions like this."
Ballistas are available in 12 12'6 and 13 in a wide range of tests curves to cover all carp fishing conditions.
